Fundamental to filing the HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR) is attaching the proper geo-code to each application. HMDA geo-coding consists of matching the accurate MSA, State, County and census tract codes to each street address in combination with the ZIP Code. Only this combination is acceptable to the regulators.
